Action, intrigue, excitement - the new trailer for Captain America: Civil War has hit, and it’s got everything you could want…and a debut you’ve been waiting for.

Just watch the trailer first.

HOW GREAT WAS THAT?

I’m not sure what’s best:

  • That we can really feel the weight and the pathos of the conflict and split between Iron Man and Cap.
  • How bad-ass Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) is looking.
  • The amazing character moments, such as the Ant-Man/Hawkeye sequence, which fans have been dreaming of since Marvel Studios was a thing.
  • How this feels like a sequel to The Winter Soldier as intended.

But I think we can agree - the cherry on the superhero clashing sundae is the official Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of SPIDER-MAN, as portrayed by Tom Holland.

It’s not much, but the moment feels right. We learn Tony’s nickname for him (UNDEROOS!), he swings in, and he looks right.

In fact…here’s a closer look. Click for detail:

The costume has the MCU look and feel of practicality, but it also is very true to the Ditko look, complete with - for the first time on film - his shifting eye lenses, a touch I can’t appreciate enough in this text.

All and all, this makes for YET ANOTHER Marvel movie which I cannot wait to attend.  There’s a new poster, too.
