The latest reboot for Spider-Man is definitely headed back to high school.

Last night at Cinemacon, the yearly convention where all of the major movie studios announce their forthcoming slate of films to entice theater owners, Sony Pictures confirmed one of the worst-kept rumors in film - the title of the new Spider-Man film.

That title? Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The first Spidey film headed up by Marvel Studios, Spider-Man: Homecoming will be Tom Holland’s second appearance as the wall-crawler, and his first solo film.

Details remain minimal about the film so far, but based on the title (and Holland’s age), we’re clearly returning to the high school era for Peter Parker, although it has been repeatedly confirmed that this is not an origin film.

Yesterday, word broke from BirthMoviesDeath.com that one of the villains in the film will be The Vulture, but this has yet to be officially confirmed. Either way - based on the positive buzz on Spidey’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War and with Marvel Studios in the driver’s seat - I’m excited to see what this Homecoming brings.

It has to be better than The Amazing Spider-Man 2, right?

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters on July 7, 2017.
