With an intriguing teaser trailer late last year, I was very much hooked by the potential of The Circle.

An extended trailer hit the web today for the Tom Hanks/Emma Watson starring thriller, and I have to say, I remain all in.

The idea of social media turning against us isn’t a new one by any means (thanks, Black Mirror), but the way that The Circle is handling it seems to be a deft, plausible version of how things can go terribly awry when you give all of yourself to a social network.

I have to admit, I have not read the original Dave Eggers novel, but the film, directed by James Ponsoldt (The End of the Tour) looks like a thriller worth catching this Spring.

The Circle arrives in theaters on April 28, 2017.
