Cool Stuff from Toy Fair 2018
While I am nowhere near the level of toy collector I once was - I literally buy just a handful of toys a year at this point - I really do look forward to Toy Fair every February.
This year, I’ve found that the best overall coverage has been provided by The Toyark, who has outdone themselves with literally hundreds if not thousands of photos from the show floor.
I recommend checking them out if you want to see everything, but here are a few of the items which grabbed my eye:
The surreal Legends of Lucha Libre line coming from Super7, which includes something I’ve always wanted out of a toy - LUCHADORES IN SUITS!
McFarlane’s impressive Stranger Things line, which now has looks and characters from Season 2 - which I’d be more delighted about if their figures weren’t so statue-esq and fragile.
NECA’s awe-inspiring figure of the Pale Man from Pan’s Labyrinth.
These wonderfully funky Street Fighter II vinyl toys from a company named Big Boys
Something called a “Range Trooper" from Solo: A Star Wars Story. I know everyone is digging on Lando’s look, but what the sweet hell is this?
And finally…
A goddamned Peter Porker: The Spectacular Spider-Ham figure. What a weird reality we’ve found ourselves where this will be on the shelves of your local Target.
