USgamer:

Final Fantasy Tactics director Yasumi Matsuno reteamed with his former Tactics developers last weekend for a livestream commentary on a playthrough of the game they all worked on. The big surprise during the stream was when Matsuno shared some scrapped plans for the shelved sequel, Final Fantasy Tactics 2.

According to Matsuno Final Fantasy Tactics 2 was at some point in the cards for Squaresoft. As Final Fantasy Tactics is considered one of the best SRPGs around this shouldn’t really be a surprise. However, as Matsuno details, confusion over the game’s direction led Square to shelve the project, but not before some concepts were drafted up for the game.

What a wonderful PSOne-era flashback. Could’ve been really, really cool!
