Originally titled Evangelion 4.0, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 is set as the final film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, retelling/rebooting the classic anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion series.
Originally set for a 2015 release, this film is now set for a 2020 release, a crisp thirteen years after the Japanese release of Evangelion 1.0, and twenty-five years after the launch of Neon Genesis Evangelion proper.
