Polygon:

We’ve already seen the upcoming, Hollywood film version of Sonic the Hedgehog’s meaty legs. But now we might have a full look at Sonic’s live-action movie design, thanks to an advertising agency’s branding deck for the Paramount Pictures film.

Hamagami / Carroll, Inc. leaked Sonic’s film appearance by publishing its Sonic the Hedgehog style guide. The post calls this “a new modern take on the brand without abandoning its core essence," and the brand development agency’s included deck, seen below, shows off more of Hollywood’s computer-generated Sonic than we’ve seen before. Included in the guide below: Sonic holding a ring, wagging his finger, and readying to run a lap or 5,000.

The original post is - unsurprisingly - now gone.

But let's have a look at him, yeah?

If I'm honest, I actually don't think this design is that bad.

If I had my druthers, I'd have this a video game to real-life scenario, where Sonic has kind of a Roger Rabbit vibe, clearly being a cartoon around 'real people', but it's clear that isn't the direction we're aiming.

Yes, it's odd, but I don't think it's bad. Kids are going to love this shit. And that's the point, right?

At least for me - I'm holding out complete judgement until I see it in action. And see whatever nightmare fuel Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik is going to be — 'cause you know that's where things will go wrong.
