Variety:

Tomorrow Studios is developing a live-action adaptation of the cult anime “Samurai Champloo,” with original series creator Shinichirō Watanabe attached to the project, the studio’s executive producers told Variety exclusively.

On the good side of things, this is the team behind the One Piece adaptation.

On the less good side of things, this is the team behind the Cowboy Bebop adaptation.

While I think that the property is considered far less “precious” to its fandom than the other two series — which makes it safer to adapt — I have to be honest, without a Nujabes soundtrack (RIP), the bloom is off the rose from the jump.
