Speaking of Power Rangers – at New York Comic Con this weekend, the long-in-gestation film will finally get a big public showing, and in advance of it all, we’ve got some new character posters via IGN – one for each Ranger.
I have to admit, to this point, my thoughts on this film have been mixed.
Power Rangers isn’t a super key property of my childhood (although I did enjoy watching it), so I’m not going to be claiming childhood rape if the movie is bad.
That said – the reveals so far have been a mixed bag.
On the positive side, we’ve had Bill Hader join to voice Alpha 5, Bryan Cranston signing on as Zordon, and honestly – I kinda like the Elizabeth Banks interpretation of Rita Repulsa.
On the negative side, the first teaser poster was basically meaningless, and the subsequent “Zord” posters felt like a bad Pacific Rim rip-off.
But who knows, it COULD be good. Even if they all look like weird organic versions of Iron Man.
Power Rangers hits cinemas on March 24, 2017.
