As the Foo Fighters enter an extended hiatus, all eyes are on its leader, Dave Grohl.  After selling millions of records and rocking nearly as many faces, he now focuses on a new era in his career.
Having directed more than his fair share of music videos, Dave’s now moved on to producing his first ever film, a documentary about the legendary recording studio known simply as Sound City.

Sound City looks to be an interesting film, not just showcasing the studio, but taking on the ongoing discussion about the digital shift for recording – whether the switch from analog has hurt the human qualities of recorded music, and what that means for the future.
I definitely wish to check it out when it gets a proper release. In the meantime, if you’re lucky enough to attend Sundance or SXSW this year, the film will be screened at both.
