That’s right. Dark Phoenix is the title. No “X-Men” in there, just a subtle circle around that X.
I guess X-Men: Apocalypse left that bad a taste in the mouth that Fox doesn’t want people to think of it.
I recognize that this movie is kind of a weird appetizer before the series comes home to Marvel Studios, but after this first look, I have to say – I didn’t expect this to feel so much like X-Men: The Last Stand. Those delays and reshoots don’t seem to have fixed much.
On the positive side, a pretty rad teaser poster came out. Dig the Phoenix Force doubling as the X.
Maybe we’ll see more at New York Comic Con next week?
