I’m really not sure how to feel about this.
On the plus side, Matt Johnson is 2 for 2 for me as a director with Blackberry and Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie. I really adored Dominic Sessa’s work in The Holdovers, and it’s always nice to see Baltimore’s own Stavros Halkias in a movie.
However — it feels kind of early to do a Bourdain biography, and concurrently, it doesn’t really feel like Sessa is playing Anthony Bourdain? But maybe that’s me.
Just the same, will I see it? I’m a card carrying AMC A-List member, of course I will.
Tony hits theaters in August 2026.
