Look, I’m not going to front here – The Post is somewhat obvious Oscar-bait.

A movie about the real life story of a newspaper taking on the Government in decades past, just as reality repeats itself? Yeah, this is a gimme for a Best Picture nod.

But then you realize this has Steven Spielberg behind the lens, and a class including the anchors of Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, alongside Bob Odenkirk, Bradley Whitford and Carrie Coon?

Yeah, you’re in. And then there’s the trailer.

Christmas is going to be a good movie season.

The Post hits theaters in limited release December 22, 2017, before going wide on January 12, 2018.
